What’s been happening in the Line Zone? 📐

The Line Zone, funded by the Institute of Mathematics & its Applications, is running until 27 November. Here’s what’s been happening so far… Students have asked questions about things like what it is like to have a job as a mathematician and how maths can predict the US presidential election. Who is taking part in the Line Zone?

The Line Zone takes place from 2 to 27 November. Over 4 weeks, students will put their questions to mathematicians from across the UK. Students vote for their favourite mathematician to win £500 for further STEM engagement. The mathematicians have a huge range of backgrounds and experiences, including: Cesare, a PhD student at the University of Manchester. Sophie, a principle analyst and business owner.
